Brookins Goldens is a small boutique breeding family.  We breed for the love of it and for the love of our dogs.  The Brookins Goldens way is just our way of doing it.  We don’t crate our dogs and every puppy of every litter gets individual love and care.  Our secret formula is really not secret.  We take the most excellent of the breed, focus on temperament, and add huge amounts of individual attention.  The health of each dog motivates me towards growing daily in knowledge, skill, and devotion.  My goal to provide the very best atmosphere, care, and nutrition for all our animals proves rewarding.  Rewarding?  Absolutely!  What a pleasure it is to see each puppy bringing and receiving love from their families all across the US. 

We are located in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Coral Springs.  We are a large family and our dogs have enriched our family experience, which for us hits at the heart of who we are.  In fact, family is how we got here!

After God blessed us with four children, we became convinced that we were to adopt two siblings from West Africa, and we did!  Joshua and Caleb were 12 and 9 when they joined our family in 2005.  From there, life got crazy… crazy wonderful.  As they learned English, we all learned together about the gift of one another.

But when the children started graduating and heading out to college, we found ourselves with only one at home and life was different.  Good but different.  That is when David (also known as Bubby), the youngest and only child at home persuaded us to get a puppy.  He was masterful.  He volunteered to help me run some errands one day and throughout the day bombarded me with pictures of Golden puppies.  By the end, I was all in and had ‘her’ named!  

Some dear friends joined us in the quest for the right Golden breeder.  Thank you Joe & Amy for the gift that keeps giving! We are grateful to Candi Pearce and Gemini Goldens for our Lily (Gemini’s Lily of the Brookins’ Valley) who is a Cody daughter.  Cody, among a litany of titles, also won Best of Breed at the Westminster Dog Show in 2013.  

Little did I know that Lily would so win our hearts that we would one day enter into the world of breeding and dabble in the show ring with Lily’s daughter, Honey (Sweet as Honey from Cuervo x Lily).  Hence, Brookins Goldens was born.  We decided to breed Lily to Cuervo (GoldRox Beach Party Gone Wild) owned by Debbie Bass, Maura Roxby and Jill Berke in February of 2017.  Since that day we linked arms with the best breeders available and enjoy meeting wonderful people along the way.  We have grown to include dogs from within our original line and have recently expanded to include Maize.  Maize is from Kokopelli Goldens, my friend and mentor Monica McGee. 

As if raising 6 wonderful children didn’t produce enough wet pool towels, we discovered wet Goldens produce just as many!  The ‘girls’ go to work with me in an academic setting and are a blessing to both the students and faculty there. After raising and home educating 6 incredibly wonderful children, I’ve become that crazy dog mom!

We breed because we enjoy it.  It is important for us to breed high quality healthy dogs placing them in the best of settings.  Our joy grows as we meet new owners and see them making their own memories.  Suffice it to say none of this would be possible without the loving support of my husband of 35 years, Brian.
